Description
Rear starboard side view of the empennage of a Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress airplane, tail number 297166, of the 96th Bomb Group Heavy of the 3rd Air Division on March 30, 1944. Markings on vertical stabililzer are the letter C in a square and underneath the tail number the letter J. Captions read: "558-(44) WPU-3-30-44-Biggin-Hill-Battle-Damage-B-17G 42-97166. FA-FSAD."
