The Aircraft Manufacturers' Collection is an artificial collection composed of duplicate material from various collections, photographs and documents removed from various collections, and materials from orphan collections. Most material removed from collections has notations stating from what collection they were removed.
The Aircraft Manufacturers' Collection is housed in thirty-two horizontal file cabinet drawers and is arranged alphabetically by manufacturer. Materials in this collection are composed of photographs, brochures, advertisements, press kits, and some manufacturer’s records.
This collection is not limited to aircraft built in the United States. Other nations include Great Britain, France, Soviet Union, Japan, and Germany. The time period spans from early aviation to current day and includes military and civilian aircraft of all types.
The researcher should also note that from time to time new material will be added to this collection.
